Men's freestyle 65 kilograms competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics The 2016 Summer Olympics ( pt, Jogos Olímpicos de Verão de 2016), officially the Games of the XXXI Olympiad ( pt, Jogos da XXXI Olimpíada) and also known as Rio 2016, was an international multi-sport event held from 5 to 21 August 20 ... in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, took place on August 21 at the Carioca Arena 2 in Barra da Tijuca. This freestyle wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists face off for gold and silver medals. Each wrestler who loses to one of the two finalists moves into the repechage, culminating in a pair of bronze medal matches featuring the semifinal losers each facing the remaining repechage opponent from their half of the bracket. Carioca Arena 2 (Portuguese: ''Arena Carioca 2'') is an indoor stadium in Barra da Tijuca in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Ganzorigiin Mandakhnaran ( Mongolian: ; born 11 May 1986) is a male Mongolian wrestler who competes in the 66 kg category in freestyle wrestling. He was born in Tuv province of Mongolia. He reached 5th place in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro after he was denied victory for running away from his opponent in the last seconds of their bronze medal contest.
